“I am committed to giving back to the community and this fundraiser will assist my foundation’s continued efforts to do so,” said Mayweather. “Shane and I are both fighting for our careers in the ring, but we are blessed to be in a position to help those less fortunate and support causes outside the ring too. I know the entire boxing world will be in town for my fight and I expect a great turnout for the event.”

Mayweather founded the FMJF in 2007 and has ensured that the organization is dedicated to empowering and promoting the social development and advancement of struggling adults and adolescents. The FMJF’s focuses on community health and wellness, economic growth and development and youth education.

Founded by the Mosley Family in 2010, Diamonds Love Foundation was formed to honor Diamond J. Johnson, Mosley’s nephew. The organization is focused on implementing a child car seat safety program, establishing programs that assist single fathers raising their children, hold youth summer boxing camps nationwide and establish centers for at risk children.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this fight and have the opportunity to work with Floyd outside of the ring to support our charities,” said Mosley. “We both feel strongly about helping at-risk youth so the two of us coming together to better the community is a great opportunity.”

This is not the first time FMJF has held a benefit during a fight week as in 2010, FMJF held a charity auction and ball prior to Mayweather’s fight against Mosley. This is the first time that he has united with another fighter’s organization to benefit several worthy causes in one evening.

“Everyone who is in town that weekend can buy a ticket to attend the event,” said Mayweather. “Working together works and through the support of each and every one of us, something really positive can happen.”
