- Info: The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation along with Mayweather Promotions is proud to present our 4th Annual “Back 2 School Giveaway 2016”.
The Back 2 School Giveaway will be held on Saturday, August 20th at the legendary Mayweather Boxing Club from 2pm-6pm. We put this event together each year, as our way to provide families an opportunity to receive necessary school supplies to help the youth excel in their studies. We want to help solve a problem in our community, we understand this time of year can be tough and we want to help relieve families, so we welcome you to join us grades K-12. The event will feature school supply giveaways, raffled prizes, food and beverages, a live D.J. and activities promoting literacy for the youth in our community. Students grades 5-12 are encouraged to bring their local library card for a chance to win a free laptop and printer. We encourage character development, life skills, and education; we highlight qualities such as honesty, responsibility, time management, self-awareness, good health, and communication through this initiative. With Nevada’s primary schools ranked 50th in the nation in terms of “Chance for Success” according to Education Week, The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation will continue to advance and promote its core principle of putting education first. Early arrival is encouraged, as the supplies will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
